What do you do when a career in dentistry just isn't floating your boat? You harness your inner entrepreneur and co-found Acis.
Meet MattWhat do you do when a career in dentistry just isn't floating your boat? You harness your inner entrepreneur and co-found Acis.
Matt takes the business of business structures very seriously. As a CEO, he understands risk and understands why getting it right every time isn't a luxury - it's a given.
His main day-to-day role is stress-relief:
"I reduce risk for professional advisers and save them both time and worry by ensuring they get the results their clients need, when they're needed."
Matt has led the Acis team since 1988 and, when he's not building it as the Alpha dog of the industry, you can find him with his family - he may even be playing guitar badly on one of the Sunshine Coast's gorgeous beaches.
Widely acknowledged as a leader in his field, Peter has focussed on the superannuation sector for most of his 30-year career.
When Emily says she thrives on helping Acis clients solve complex challenges, she’s not exaggerating. In fact, she’s never happier than when she’s guided a client to a successful solution that they just didn’t think possible.
The fact that James can solve a Rubik’s Cube in under 11 seconds (with his eyes closed!) says a lot about his fastidious nature.
The fact that James can solve a Rubik’s Cube in under 11 seconds (with his eyes closed!) says a lot about his fastidious nature.
Clients often comment that Acis seems like a family, and this is no truer than in the case of Belinda Topping.
Darascilla brings a wealth of experience to her position at Acis. Following a stint in the banking industry, she worked for a number of years at accounting firms where she developed her interest in company set-ups and structuring.
Travelling around Australia for her husband's job certainly has its perks, but now that Kath has found a home in the Acis Client Services crew, she doesn't want to leave!
You've got to be serious about making a difference when you claim that you are "defiantly drawn to working for a family-owned business".
Danni is all about prompt and accurate service, which she brings with a caring and thorough attitude. Danni looks after company statements, changes to company information and incorporating companies.
What happens when you love being an Acis client? You come and work with us, of course! That’s exactly what happened with Courtney.
Widely acknowledged as a leader in his field, Peter has focussed on the superannuation sector for most of his 30-year career.
Peter's role is to provide high level SMSF services to Acis clients, with a focus on reducing the risk of non-compliance in the establishment and operation of SMSFs.
A good day for him is when he and the team are able to show a client how to achieve something they thought may not be possible.
It surprised us to learn that Peter has a sideline interest as a qualified snake catcher. He says it’s a hobby he’s always loved, and he holds a unique status as the only non-veterinary contributor to the NSW National Parks and Wildlife’s report on the hygiene protocols for the care of captive snakes. By comparison, corralling any SMSF enquiries should be a walk in the park.
When Emily says she thrives on helping Acis clients solve complex challenges, she’s not exaggerating. In fact, she’s never happier than when she’s guided a client to a successful solution that they just didn’t think possible.
Heading up our Legal Services team, Emily takes pride in working closely with her clients to build positive, trusted relationships. She applies expert scrutiny to the intricacies of each document and intelligently analyses available options to equip her clients with the optimal way forward. Her exceptional legal brain, open and personable communication style and in-depth product knowledge combine to make her a highly respected leader in her field.
A former analyst with a global investment bank in Japan, Emily has always been a high achiever who’s forever on-the-go. Add three children into the mix and having time to relax doesn’t seem to happen too often. When she does get to unwind, she heads for her favourite beach for the day, followed by a well-chosen glass of red on her back deck.
Clients often comment that Acis seems like a family, and this is no truer than in the case of Belinda Topping.
Belinda has been with Acis since the mid-90s and now regards many of her clients as friends, always finding time for a catch up when they call in with queries.
She has worked across most of the Acis business, and with client satisfaction being paramount for Belinda, she now sits in the legal and client services team.
Rumour has it that she is also pretty serious about cuisine, and finds time to mix her loves of travel, wine and food with friends and family as often as possible. Do we get an invite, Belinda?
The fact that James can solve a Rubik’s Cube in under 11 seconds (with his eyes closed!) says a lot about his fastidious nature.
At Acis, James is focussed on making sure trusts and superannuation funds are aligned with current legislation, as well as ensuring they’re operating to deliver the greatest benefit to his clients. Formerly with CST Documents, James has been a part of the Acis crew since early 2018.
Out of office hours, James’ scrupulous personality is equally in force. If he’s not doing strenuous exercise he’s working on disproving Wile’s proof of Fermat’s Last Theorem (yeah, we don’t know what that is either!).
Courtney is a problem-solver at heart and thrives on the complex problem-solving that is inherent in a legal career. In every role she has had, Courtney has focussed on delivering personalised services and products to her clients. She believes that no two matters are the same, and that you don’t go to a party with a problem – you go with a solution.
Prior to joining Acis, Courtney clerked at the Magistrates Court and developed an acute understanding of the workings of the law. She is transitioning this expertise to the development and review of Acis documents as part of our Legal Services team to ensure they are delivering the end result our clients are seeking.
A taekwondo state and national representative, when this problem-solving ninja is not tackling work problems, she is training or baking delicious caramel slices for her co-workers (hint hint!) or mentoring foster kids through Pyjama Angels. No wonder it takes an almond vanilla latte with 4 shots to get her going in the mornings!
You've got to be serious about making a difference when you claim that you are "defiantly drawn to working for a family-owned business".
Nicole is serious about ensuring she delivers wonderful customer service from answering phone calls, to providing information and double-checking client orders.
She takes on the responsibility of following up every order to make sure companies are set up correctly and everyone is happy.
Unfortunately for her friends and colleagues, Nicole's big claim to fame (despite the surname!) is that she makes probably the world's worst coffee. Oh well! You can't be great at everything.
Travelling around Australia for her husband's job certainly has its perks, but now that Kath has found a home in the Acis Client Services crew, she doesn't want to leave!
Kath spends her days efficiently processing client orders, registering companies and setting up trusts and funds. She commits herself wholeheartedly to delivering the top customer service for which Acis is known. On a weekend, if you can't find Kath relaxing at home with hubby, family and friends, it's safe to say she's out cruising on her motorbike.
Danni is all about prompt and accurate service, which she brings with a caring and thorough attitude. Danni looks after company statements, changes to company information and incorporating companies.
Previously with CST Documents, Danni joined the Acis client services team in 2018 when the businesses merged. She brings diverse and valuable experience, having previously worked with Corporate Affairs Victoria and ASIC.
Danni is a footy fanatic, and on weekends you’ll find her at the MCG or at Marvel Stadium watching her favourite football team, preferably with her much loved teenage son at her side.
Helping customers is what makes Tracey tick. As part of the client services team, she processes orders quickly and efficiently.
Having previously been with CST Documents for 14 years, Tracey brought with her invaluable client knowledge when the businesses joined in 2018. Her daily focus is helping customers with the Acis ordering system and any questions they may have.
Tracey has quite the flair in the kitchen and is well known for her delicious potato salad. On weekends, you’ll find her spending time with her family or baking mouth-watering desserts. We’re sure our invite is on it’s way.
What happens when you love being an Acis client? You come and work with us, of course! That’s exactly what happened with Courtney. In her role as an Assistant Accountant for one of our wonderful clients, she liaised with our team regularly. Impressed by the positive interactions and efficient service, when she heard of an opportunity to join Acis, she jumped at it. And we’re very glad she did!
Now part of our Client Services Team, Courtney works closely with clients, responding to phone calls and emails and processing orders. She’s a stickler for double-checking every detail to ensure that orders are accurate and nothing is missed.
Courtney is an avid traveller and has already visited an impressive list of global destinations. She loves exploring new places and is always planning her next travel adventure which, for the time being at least, might have to be a bit closer to home.
Darascilla brings a wealth of experience to her position at Acis. Following a stint in the banking industry, she worked for a number of years at accounting firms where she developed her interest in company set-ups and structuring. She also recently spent18 months in a voluntary role at the Southport Domestic Violence and Specialist Court.
All this multi-faceted experience combines to make Darascilla a valued member of our Legal Services team where she expertly reviews Acis documents to deliver a first-class customer service experience. She’s now undertaking a double degree in Law and Commerce to further develop her knowledge.
When Darascilla manages some downtime, she’ll either be engrossed in a real crime documentary or indulging her other passion for interior design.
Mick first joined Acis at the age of 18 and, apart from a few stints away travelling, he’s been an integral part of our team ever since.
A lifetime in the accounting industry seemed to have led naturally to Acis when Helgard joined the team as Relationship Manager.
Mick first joined Acis at the age of 18 and, apart from a few stints away travelling, he’s been an integral part of our team ever since. As Client Relationship Director, his multi-faceted role includes developing and converting new business opportunities, promoting the benefits of our services, and ensuring that every Acis client receives consistently excellent service. A central focus of his role is making sure all clients are able to access the full benefits of our solutions.
With a decade spent in the Legal Services team, Mick has amassed an in-depth knowledge of Acis products and legal documents. This practical experience and technical understanding prove invaluable in his current position. He’s able to respond directly to new and existing client enquiries with efficiency and accuracy, providing an exceptional level of technical assistance.
Mick’s friendly, down-to-earth manner sees him build strong and positive relationships with Acis clients and industry contacts. He truly enjoys getting to know his clients and their firms, and his hands-on and personal approach instils confidence and trust.
Outside of work, when he’s not wrangling his young family, you’ll find Mick fishing, surfing or playing what he terms ‘Old Man Cricket’ with a team of mates.
A lifetime in the accounting industry seemed to have led naturally to Acis when Helgard joined the team as Relationship Manager. Helgard’s wealth of experience has seen him in roles across private practice, corporate accounting and e-commerce. He now focusses all that expertise on supporting Acis clients in building the value of their businesses and, in turn, the value of their client relationships.
Using his knowledge of the professional wealth management industry, Helgard is forging strong ties with Acis clients and ensuring they are making the most of our market-leading technology. His skills as an ambidextrous golfer will surely come in handy as he juggles Acis’ diverse client base.
With two young kids at home, Helgard keeps himself busy but he tells us he can "really" run 100 metres in 11 seconds *cough Mick*, so he has the energy to keep going.
There are no limits to Courtney’s design instincts and tenacity. Even the production of 36 custom documents in a single day didn’t phase Acis’ digital coordinator.
Courtney constantly strives, no matter what it takes, to ensure the Acis brand is well represented wherever it is experienced.
Courtney sees her role as ensuring that clients understand everything they need to know about Acis products and services. She coordinates events, delivers campaigns and assists both the IT and sales teams to guarantee consistently high quality across the entire marketing programme.
When she’s not bending it like Beckham on the soccer pitch or getting rebounds like Liz Cambage on the basketball court, Courtney enjoys a relaxing getaway or good conversation over a lazy Sunday brunch.
Acis clients tend to love the business so much, they join the company. This is the story for Mark, who left Esanda over 10 years ago to join the Acis family.
As Technology Director at Acis, Sush has an integral role in driving the performance of our information systems. He heads up our dedicated tech team, providing IT solutions, support, software development and maintenance.
As Technology Operations Manager, Aaron’s focus is on keeping the Acis business and customer-service systems in optimal shape. This is a key leadership role that helps ensure our team can continue to process and deliver client orders as efficiently and smoothly as possible.
Paul keeps the engine room running at Acis, and has done for the past 10+ years. He is a stickler for quality control and consistency, and is the go-to man for ensuring all products are delivered on time, every time.
Acis clients tend to love the business so much, they join the company. This is the story for Mark, who left Esanda over 10 years ago to join the Acis family.
Mark's role requires him to be across the entire business on a daily basis, and pre-empt problems before they arise. His accounting skills are often called upon (as you'd imagine), and stretch to supporting clients, at times, with their reporting queries.
This sporty dad winds down by supporting hockey and rugby, enjoying time with his family, and possibly imbibing a drop or two of vino rosso when he finds a moment.
As Technology Director at Acis, Sush has an integral role in driving the performance of our information systems. He heads up our dedicated tech team, providing IT solutions, support, software development and maintenance. With a Bachelor of Computer Science under his belt, he also has 15 years’ prior experience managing IT projects and teams for a range of organisations, including IBM, Intuit and Telstra.
Sush is responsible for ensuring our market-leading technology and online services operate optimally, are easily accessible to clients and highly secure. He makes sure clients are expertly assisted through every issue and is always on hand to answer enquiries. As for his colleagues, well, they just love his ability to make their daily tasks easier!
Passionate about playing and watching cricket, Sush also loves spending time with his wife and daughter and - much to their delight - is quite fond of visiting the shopping malls around Brisbane.
Paul keeps the engine room running at Acis, and has done for the past 10+ years. He is a stickler for quality control and consistency, and is the go-to man for ensuring all products are delivered on time, every time.
When he is not overseeing the team getting clients' documentation out the door, you will find Paul spending time with friends, or console gaming. And, if you’re wanting to see a cool party trick, ask Paul to show you his. You won't believe your ears...oops...we mean eyes.
As Technology Operations Manager, Aaron’s focus is on keeping the Acis business and customer-service systems in optimal shape. This is a key leadership role that helps ensure our team can continue to process and deliver client orders as efficiently and smoothly as possible.
Aaron previously worked in the medical software industry where he developed his ability to identify opportunities for improving the customer experience through enhancing business systems.
In what seems to him like a lifetime ago, he also spent 12 years working in IT roles in regional and remote mining towns around Australia. He’s extremely happy to be back living in the city, though, because he gets way more visitors here than he did in the mines!
In his 6+ years with Acis, Frankie has taken the Nike mantra “Just Do It” to new heights. As an avid NBA fan, Frankie follows athletes who know what it means to take on any challenge and get the job done. This is a responsibility he takes very seriously for Acis clients – he gets done whatever they need doing.
Frankie is responsible for ensuring Acis clients are delivered quality products in the most efficient manner. If he’s not elbow deep in packing and checking over final products, you’ll probably find him elbow deep in a great meal – eating is his second favourite hobby after the NBA!
